Is the 4-20mA output a current sink or source?

The 4-20mA output is a current source. The output will deliver a current between 4mA and 20mA into a maximum resistance of 250 ohms.

Please remember to enable "Analog Output" using the APM configuration software, as all outputs default to digital.
